The BRS Manager is responsible for executing and leading a team of BRS Staff in business restructuring and bankruptcy related engagements, including bankruptcy litigation and financial due diligence, and addressing complex questions and issues under the direction of a BRS Partner, Director or Senior Manager. The BRS Manager also assists with marketing, networking and business development activities for the BRS Group, including proposal preparation.

Bankruptcy Restructuring Services
- Marketing and New Business Development Activities:
- Assists Partners, Managing Directors, Directors and Senior Managers in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
- Assists BDO pitch team in preparing for new business opportunities and responding to inquiries
- Contacts creditors, lawyers, bankers and internal BDO contacts to pursue new business opportunities (creditor committee, debtor, litigation, etc.)
- Prepares majority of pitch book for new business opportunity, including cover letter and assist in conflict check process.
- Conducts and clears conflict checks and prepares draft retention affidavits or engagement letters; ensures compliance with all other court filing requirements
- Begins to build network of contacts in the industry (lawyers, bankers, PE firms, creditors, etc.)
- Cross-sells other BDO services (corporate finance, valuation, tax, due diligence, litigation, assurance, etc.)

- Engagement Project Leadership:
- Assists engagement director or partner in executing engagement
- Presents BDO work product to counsel or client and responds to questions
- Interacts with counsel or company management on complex operational, restructuring or bankruptcy issues
- Possesses strong financial restructuring and bankruptcy technical skills, including ability to identify bankruptcy or financial restructuring related issues
- Possesses strong ability to analyze cash flow projections and identify issues
- Evaluates management to determine ability to operate and reorganize business operations
- Assists with the preparation and/or ensures the disclosure statement and reorganization plan meet all required financial and bankruptcy requirements
- Reviews reorganization/liquidation plan, evaluate plans for client and identifies issues
- Evaluates alternative courses of action and potential solutions to achieve best result for client

Due Diligence / Transaction Support Services
- Acts as a key member of financial due diligence (MA or lender) engagements, including quality of earnings, analysis of cash flows, ABL, etc.
- Prepares reports for clients highlighting work performed, issues identified and BDO recommendations
- Reviews, analyzes and makes recommendations related to financial projections and pro forma financial statements
- Identifies potential purchase price adjustments, non-recurring items or other unusual items for client
- Coordinates with other BDO practices in relation to technical issues, such as valuation, tax structuring, and purchase price allocations

Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises the day-to-day workload of BRS Senior Associates and Associates on assigned engagements; reviews work product, provides timely performance reviews and assists in the development of goals and objectives to enhance staff professional development
- Provides on-the-job training for all BRS Senior Associates and Associates on each engagement
- Acts as Career Advisor to BRS Senior Associates and Associates, as appropriate

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or other relevant field required
- MBA or other relevant advanced degree beneficial

- Six (6) years of prior experience performing business restructuring or related consulting services required
- Prior experience working within a national public accounting firm or consulting organization preferred
- One to two years of management experience preferred

- CIRA designation preferred
- CPA and CTP certifications beneficial

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint

- Management presence and ability to act as key contact on assigned engagements, while timely keeping Directors and Partners informed of progress
- Ability to develop financial models, especially integrated PL with balance sheets and cash flows
- Solid knowledge of debt and lease restructuring, cash flow and balance sheets, along with liquidation analysis
- Solid knowledge of bankruptcy and insolvency process
