PRIMARY OBJECTIVES/SCOPE:



Manger of Credit Operations will engage, manage and/or work directly to monitor and improve Systems, Processes and Policies for the Credit & Collections, Dispute Management, Cash Application and Finance Departments to support the Business Units in meeting their goals. Interface with IT and vendors to determine new or improved technology, systems, processes and/or securities are needed to assist Airgas in identifying best practices, streamlining workflow and achieving maximum efficacy. Using continual evaluation, analysis, coordination, guidance, training and project management to limit risk, foster a creative environment and grow business.



PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:



* Credit policy and procedures

* Execute corporate credit initiatives as project management lead

* Manage AR reporting

* Interface with IT and vendors to address reporting, systems, and technology needs

* Field credit operation issues that impede AR performance

* Liaison with third party vendors (DnB, Experian, High Radius etc.)

* Sharepoint administrator

* Responsible for assignment and changes to security roles

* Monitor receivables and coordinate reporting for AR securitization program

* Utilize Data Warehouse for Regional A/R portfolio analysis to determine collection and A/R improvement opportunities

* Assist with due diligence, acquisitions, and special projects as assigned

* Electronic Commerce: assist with implementation of WAWF, Web EC, XIGN, and other web applications

* Assist with development of Credit & Collections

* Provide coverage support to Strategic Account Approvals and bankruptcy management



Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED and DESIRED:



* BA degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics required / MBA preferred and involvement in NACM Certification program

* Knowledge of bank and external financing and financial markets

* Knowledge of legal aspects of Credit (bankruptcy, secured transactions, financing, liens, etc.)

* Knowledge of general ledger accounting, ERP billing/payment systems

* Knowledge of business processes and process mapping

* Strong analytical skills

* Internal knowledge of Airgas' business processes and the packaged gas industry

* Presentation skills, ability to explain ideas and influence outcomes

* Proactive problem solving skills and excellent organizational and communications skills

* Multi-industry Credit management experience, 5 - 10 years, exposure (lending experience) to commercial banking desired

* Account receivable management experience (issue resolution)



WORKING CONDITIONS:



* Business travel as needed, up to 20%

* Ongoing adversarial environment, managing conflicting interests



STANDARDS OF MEASURING PERFORMANCE:



* Project competition in a timely and thorough manner that drives efficiency gains, DSO reduction or reduction in bad debt

* Solid controls in place to prevent risk

* Effectiveness in supporting Regions with A/R issue resolution

* High level of service to the field

* Timely reporting of AR
