Responsibilities:Role Statement:The Engineering Manager is coordinating the development of new and customer specific products and/ or processes. The role is responsible to develop working methods and supervise rightful use of those, with that, taking into account global strategy and procedures. The Engineering manager leads a team of dedicated engineers. Key Tasks: Coordinate the development of new and customer specific products and/ or processes:
- Organize and coordinate all aspects of the engineering tasks, plan and assign the engineering capacities, timelines and priorities accordingly
- Ensure effective and efficient work execution by employees
- (Help) drawing up department aims
- Determine priorities for optimal services.
- Advise about policy pursue and translating to department budgets
- Develop, implement and manage systems and processes that lead to successful courses of development.
- Perform cost calculations for courses of development in order to achieve the aims set, within the available budget.
- After approval, plan for the courses into the entire planning.
- Have performed, monitor and adjusting development courses
- Measure, analyze and report about the department performances
- Provide for sufficient capacity and means
- Guard department budgets
- Take measures in disruptions and (quality related) problems Lead and guide a team of dedicated engineers:
- Provide direction and coordinate the team, capacities and work flow
- Build highly motivated teams
- Guard progress and quality of the team's outcome,
- Facilitate performance reviews and if needed improve work procedures, education and training.
- Build a succession plan, help to decide about employment, dismissal and promotion of employees within the set formation policy.
- Arrange leave, overtime etc. Other duties and interfaces:
- Advise about the purchase, maintenance and replacement of means and the design of work places.
- Solve technical and organizational problems
- Take measures to stimulate quality and progress
- Internal reporting and communication of projects and other business activities
- Provide cross disciplinary product related advise, updates and technical information
- Maintain order, neatness and safety in the workplacesRequirement:Key Qualifications, Experiences & Knowledge:
- Must have minimum a bachelor's engineering degree in minimum one of the academic disciplines mechanics, electrics or electronics
- Minimum one to three years professional level engineering experience - or present technical proven interest and capabilities
- Needs a good commercial understanding
- Strong understanding products, technical processes, operations and logistics
- Have demonstrated strong leadership skills in leading larger teams
- Optimally have a deep and broad knowledge of the Tyco Electronics' technology and product portfolio and the markets they serve
- Should have had previous exposure to Tyco Electronics processes and structures
- Awareness or ability to gain the relevant market standards and requirements Particular Skills & Abilities Required:
