JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Job Summary
As an Executive Communications Manager, you will report to the Director of Global Field Communications and will work directly with NetApp's most senior executives to translate their ideas and strategies into compelling communications across a range of media: presentations, speeches, email, videos, etc. Part of your responsibilities will be to ensure that executive communications exemplify the corporate messaging and are consistent with messages delivered by other senior NetApp executives.
Your role is both a highly personal and highly cross functional one. Essential functions include:
Role & Responsibilities
Will act as a primary liaison to functional executive spokespeople, key stakeholders and the broader corporate communications community. Influences at all levels, responsible for overall client satisfaction.
Responsible for creating compelling, original, executive-level content for internal and external communication
Manages strategic communication services for executive spokespeople
Understands the executives function and business strategy
Provides strategic communication advice to help increase the impact of an executives business priorities
Establishes communications plan with executive
Is the main point of contact for the client, client team, and Strategic Functional Communications Lead
Establishes an engagement model with the executive, executive team (Administrator, Operations Lead/Chief of Staff), to proactively manage communications work
Acts as executives communications advocate across all target audiences
Reviews and approves/declines incoming requests using established engagement model
Defines high-level requirements for communications deliverables
Creates and manages content for executive, including messaging, presentations, strategic and organizational communication deliverables
Will adapt materials to meet the needs of different audiences, different channels and digitization strategy as required by the clients communications plan
Is SME for the business and responsible for creating and maintaining subject-based messages and content on an ongoing basis
Manages internal meetings logistics for All Hands, Q&A sessions, etc.
Is responsible for quality of end product, and delivery on time and on budget
Partners with external communications disciplines (PR, AR, IR, Corporate Communications) on opportunities and messaging alignment
*PR/media agency or executive communications experience preferred
*Strategic communications planning and execution - Demonstrates above average understanding and strategic thinking across multiple communication disciplines. Has successfully developed and executed internal and/or external communication plans.
* Excellent communications skills through all media to synthesize complex subjects into key compelling narratives and messages
*Executive presence - Experience advising/working directly with executives
*Strong collaborator - Ability to partner across mix of constituents and organizations
* Strong understanding of the IT industry
* Patience and impatience; passion and dispassion; and the knowledge of when to use each.
Education and Experience
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in communications, business administration, or related field
--5-12 Years of internal/external communications in varied disciplines, such as organizational communication, executive communication, and public relations
