The Manager, Genetic Counseling Services demonstrates effective leadership in management of the Norton Medical Group Genetic Counseling Services practice and acts as a resource for all staff and stakeholders. General responsibilities include: * Knowledge of all office functions and roles and have the ability to perform them if necessary and divide patient load and prepare staff schedules; * Ensure the department is compliant with all regulating agencies (i.e. JCAHO, etc.); * Create and implement processes to improve department efficiency, utilizes resources appropriately, ensures referrals are obtained, and assist with annual budget; * Perform all HR functions related to, but not limited to, recruitment/hiring, orientation/CEPs, coaching/counseling, staff development, employee files, terminations, status changes, and performance management; * Ensure the genetic counselors comply with certification requirements, applications, and deadlines as outlined by the ABGC; * Act as a liaison between the genetic counseling practice and all related stakeholders including physicians, service lines, marketing, community groups, testing laboratories, etc.; * Lead projects and initiatives related to strategic growth and continuous improvement; * Oversee Progeny database, identify areas of potential research, and participate in grant writing; * Represent the genetic counseling practice at committee meetings, departmental meetings, etc.; * Performs other duties as assigned.
Three years experience in cancer genetic counseling
Masters Degree from an ABGC Accredited Genetic Counseling Program
Board Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic family history drawing tools, and electronic risk assessment tools
One year management in developing genetic counseling services across multiple service lines
