Job Description

Under the direction of the Director., Member and Provider Services, the Training and Development Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, leading and supervising the training department. The Operations department consists of over 500 employees representing cross functional areas including a large Customer Service call center, Claims Operations, Provider Reimbursement, Plan Benefits, Business Implementation, Enrollment and Premium Billing. There will be an initial need to transform/rebuild/reorganize the current Operations Training Department to ensure the successful design, development, delivery and management of instructor-led and multi-media training programs to meet the learning and development needs of the Operations organization. The Training and Development Manager will be responsible for creating a best in class program that adequately prepares new hire staff to meet performance goals upon successful completion of training. In addition to new hire training and on boarding the Training and Development Manager will be responsible for creating and deliver ongoing training as a result of corporate initiatives, projects or as a result of needs assessment.

EDUCATION: (Minimum educations & certifications required)
Bachelors Degree in education or related field required.

EXPERIENCE: (Years of experience)
7-10 years training experience, preferably in a healthcare insurance, general insurance or sales environment. Experience supporting business operations and/or production departments.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS: (Include interpersonal skills)
Requires ability to apply adult learning theory and instructional design methods to design and develop training activities. Has an understanding of Human Performance Technology to improve business outcomes. Knowledge of e-learning and mobile learning technology required. Has the ability to create project plans, class scheduling, training materials, course design, and communication planning. Is able to work with managers and staff to design and deliver training activities. Must be able to analyze present and desired levels of performance, identify the causes for the performance gap, and offer a wide range of interventions with which to improve performance, guide the change management process, and evaluate the results. Proficiency in MSOffice suite, specifically PowerPoint required.

Must be able to prepare and deliver clear presentation of ideas and proposed solutions to all levels of management including senior leaders. Manage challenging group dynamics to effectively reach positive outcomes that enhance overall performance. Strong interpersonal skills required, including clear and concise verbal communication, presentation, business writing and active listening skills. Excellent structured writing skills. Manages and collaborates in a matrix environment and possesses strong influencing skills. Ability to facilitate planning and review sessions required. Must have excellent facilitation skills and. ability to coach others for improved performance.

Leadership and management skills are necessary with ability to coach and develop staff at all professional levels.
