The Observation Unit nurse manager is responsible for managing the daily operations and functions on the Unit. The patient s continuum of care from admission to discharge is followed to ensure that all patient care needs are being met. The position assists in developing objectives, and policies and procedures which support the mission, vision and values of the hospital. The nurse manager serves in a leadership role and works collaboratively with the departmental staff, the medical staff, and all other hospital departments. The position is responsible for maintaining customer relations and satisfaction, compliance with accreditation and licensure requirements, the professional practice standards, and the unit personnel.
Minimum: Current CA RN License, BLS
Preferred: ACLS, PALS, Telemetry certification/EKG certification
Minimum: At least 3 years experience in an acute care setting.
Preferred: 1 to 2 years managerial or supervisory experience.
Minimum: High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Preferred: BSN, MSN, DNP, or related non nursing advanced degree
