Manager, Medical Communications
The position holder reports to the Head, Professional Services, Medical Communication & Education and is responsible for managing global Medical Communications and Medical Education activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively manage timelines, content and faculty for medical communications and education activities including advisory boards, symposia, speaker presentations, etc.
Collaborate with Medical and Marketing colleagues to support planning, development and execution of programs
Actively manage external vendors to ensure accurate, within budget, and timely deliverables
Develop and edit scientific content and materials for presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, etc.
Engage external speakers and manage consultancy agreements
Provide insight and guidance on literature search strategies and perform searches in relevant databases (e.g., PubMed). Also, retrieve and review references for relevancy, and tabulate data in concise manner
Serve as Med Comm/Edu representative in modality Working Groups and ad hoc meetings
Serve as back-up to Medical Librarian for literature searches and reference retrieval
Accurately assess and manage budget for assigned projects/activities

The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a solid knowledge of the communication planning process and medical information resources.
The position requires excellent project management skills.
Incumbent must be able to write and edit scientific documents to clearly and effectively communicate product-related messages to a wide range of audiences.
Demonstrate ability to synthesize materials from various medical and scientific sources
Responsible for quality reviews of materials before they are released.
Must be a team player, adaptable to change, with excellent organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with internal and external customers including vendors, key opinion leaders and other healthcare professionals.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE DESIRED
BA/BS degree in Life Sciences; M.S, PhD or PharmD preferred.
Minimum of 2 years' experience in pharmaceutical industry or medical communications agency in preparing, reviewing and delivering scientific content
Experience in Diagnostics Imaging (cardiac ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT, MRI) preferred
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF Writer and related software
