Facility: St. Lukes at Duluth
Department: Nursing Administration
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible to Directors for providing leadership and management of assigned unit(s)/department(s). Supervises and/or coordinates the functions related to business transactions, medical records management, clinical services, compliance, safety and customer service. Works collaboratively system-wide with administrative and medical staff as needed. Provides direction and is a resource to meet the operational needs of assigned areas of responsibility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelors Degree in Nursing or its equivalent in related field plus one (1) year supervisory/management experience (may include charge, AHN, HN, Administrative Supervisor, etc.) - OR - Associate Degree/Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent in related field plus two (2) years supervisory/management experience at St. Luke s (may include charge, AHN, HN, Administrative Supervisor, etc.). Experience: Minimum three (3) years previous clinical/work experience in acute care facility. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as registered nurse. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master s Degree in Nursing or its equivalent in a related field, or active enrollment in Master s program with agreed upon completion date is strongly preferred. Experience: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/A SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; enthusiasm and ability to initiate and manage change; conflict management skills; places high value on growth and education; demonstrated skills in effective problem-solving, creativity; good organization and time management skills; self-motivated. Knowledge of current clinical practices; demonstrated proficiency in writing proposals and reports; evidence of leadership, creativity and initiative; evidence of teaching skills; demonstrated ability and openness to learning management skills. Ability to project and articulate needs of department and staff; plan, delegate and guide the work of subordinates; establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff; to understand and accept personal responsibility; to pursue independent study; to plan, organize, evaluate and promote work activities of assigned clinical areas. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: N/A AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment. WORKING CONDITIONS: N/A Full-time Day shift Bachelors degree is required MN RN license prior to start Relevant experience is required
