Job Summary:
The Performance Improvement/Regulatory Compliance Manager acts in conjunction with the Administrative Director of Nursing, Department of Patient Care. Provides oversight and directs all quality activities by identifying areas for improvement. Assess, plans, implements, monitors and evaluates nursing practice and the nursing care delivery system within a cost-contained environment and ensures that cost effective, quality nursing care is administered to all patients in compliance with the standards of all regulatory and accrediting agencies. All functions will be guided by the requirement of external regulating and accrediting bodies and the organization's performance improvement plan.
Manages the daily activities of the PI Clinical Advisors and the PI Data Specialist. Assists with the implementation and integration of the Department of Patient Care Performance Improvement Plan in addition to ensuring JCAHO & Regulatory Compliance at the unit level.

The Performance Improvement/Regulatory Compliance Manager
The Performance Improvement and Regulatory Compliance Manager contribute to the actualization of the philosophy, mission, goals and objectives of Nursing Services at Hackensack University Medical Center with the Nurse Executive Council.
* Participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of nursing goals and objectives as they relate to performance improvement.
* Promotes collaboration between nursing and other departments to increase the organizations effectiveness and efficiency.
The Performance Improvement/Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and directing Performance Improvement Programs for Nursing Services and aligning these programs with the organizations quality improvement performance goals.
In conjunction with the Administrative Director of Nursing, the Performance Improvement Manager will;
* Develop and implement the Performance Program to assure that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients based on established standards.
* Directs nursing performance activities by implementing a systematic unit-based approach for monitoring the quality and appropriateness of nursing care.
* Directs nursing personnel in collecting and analyzing data using clinically valid criteria.
* Evaluates all nursing performance improvement activities to assure continuous improvement or implement corrective action as necessary.
* Prepares, evaluates and submits reports of all Nursing Departments activities to appropriate committees.
* Collaborates with managers to develop and maintain on-going unit based activities
* Orients new nursing personnel to performance program and processes.
* Educates and supervised nurse reviewers for monitoring and evaluation activities.
The Performance Improvement Manager is responsible for assisting the Administrative Director of Nursing in
* Maintenance of Magnet Data graphs and information to directors/ Managers and staff.
* The organization and facilitation of the Quality Council Committee.
* Develops, coordinates and teaches selected performance workshops and classes to meet educational needs.
* Preparing, evaluating and submitting reports of all Nursing Department activities to appropriate committees.
