RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

QUALITY CONTROL TESTING

* Maintaining the adherence to and validity of all procedures affecting the positions being supervised.

* Insure that Lab Technicians are capable of performing minor repairs and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment

* Effectively interpret and communicate analysis results within the context of the production facilities to maintain product quality.

* Perform standardizations or calibrations.

* Work with production ,sales, and customers to present data and assist with customer reviews

* Provide weekly communication and safety points to lab technicians

* Provide proficient knowledge of minerals customers applications and have the ability to develop/interpret testing protocols to properly and adequately vet the results

* Provide support throughout LNA of quality systems management and implementation of said quality system

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

* Provide training and mentoring for all Lab Technician positions

* Ensure tests and procedures are well understood by all lab technicians related to all phases of testing and data entry

REPORTS AND RECORD KEEPING AND COMPLIANCE

* Completing and submitting weekly payroll report

* Maintaining of accurate record inventory of all operating supplies required by both Quality Control and Lab

* Maintaining of accurate inventory balance of chemical solutions and properly functioning laboratory instruments

* Insure a clean work environment

AUTHORITY AND BACK UP

* Has authority to hold, or not release any shipment suspected of non-conformance

* Provide back up to Lab Technician

* Provide sufficient training to lab technician to allow this position to back up Lab Manager

SAFETY

* Attend all safety meetings as required

* Insure that all Lab Technicians are trained in safety

ATTRIBUTES:

* Knowledge of minerals processing processes.

* Strong Quality conscience.

* Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams.

* Strong environmental and safety compliance and orientation

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on multiple projects in a continuous manufacturing environment.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills.

* Positive human relations skills in dealing with employees, vendors, and contractors.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project.

* Loyalty and commitment to organization.

* Mindset to travel and/or relocate.

* Must be able to work shift work, overtime, 7 consecutive days, or holidays, as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

* Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust.

* Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.

* Able to lift over 50 pounds.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 5 years professional experience as a lab tech/supv, Operator, Line Supv, Quality Auditor or Process Engineer

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor s degree in a physical sciences or mathematics based degree program
