SERVICE AREA OVERVIEW
Northside Hospital is committed to patient safety, quality service and continuous improvement. Our Quality Improvement (QI) Department works to advance learning and system-wide improvements throughout the hospital, various outpatient sites, and the communities we serve. The program is a comprehensive effort that addresses Northside Hospital s dimensions of quality, including: clinical and service excellence, patient safety, continuous readiness, and operational efficiency. The Department improves health care provider and system performance through Departmental and Medical Staff peer review, maintaining a program of continuous compliance with Joint Commission standards, AHRQ patient safety measures, and utilizing data from department-specific QI initiatives to guide performance improvement efforts.
Provides oversight and direction for all Quality Information activities including data collection, validation, aggregation, and reporting. This includes internal and external information for Clinical Pathways, and select patient populations, Medical Staff Quality Functions, and Hospital Wide Outcomes. Works closely with the Vice President of Quality Improvement to plan, organize and direct all Quality Information needs for the organization.
Master s Degree in Business or related field with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience, including 2 years information system development experience, and 2 years management experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Demonstrated leadership ability with effective analytical skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to organize and make objective and sound decisions. Demonstrated data management skills and a basic understanding of statistical analysis. Ability to coordinate and conduct staff training programs. Ability to serve as a positive change agent. Knowledgeable in CQI methodology. Working knowledge of team dynamics/teamwork concepts. Ability to supervise assigned staff. PREFERRED: Certified Professional Healthcare Quality
