JOB DESCRIPTIONEssential Functions:
Assists with the selection of new team members. Conducts orientation and training of new and existing staff and identifies further instructional needs. Ensures that staff is clinically competent to perform patient care, follows up on learning needs or performance problems. Schedules staff for adequate coverage to meet the needs of the department, maintains attendance records and completes accurate payroll. Prioritizes, assigns and reviews work, provides feedback to director regarding staff performance. Writes timely, insightful reviews for staff members of appropriate clinical area(s), assists staff members regarding professional goal determination/attainment, Serves as a clinical resource to staff. Ensures staffing levels which meet department guidelines: ensures optimal department coverage and minimal overtime. Monitors utilization of supplies and equipment for optimal efficiency and cost containment. Supports quality improvement programs for the department. Reviews, revises and enforces policies and procedures. Ensures staff and director are informed about department and hospital issues. Informs director of problems and how they were addressed, assists the director in the follow up of unusual occurrences and complaints. Demonstrates knowledge and sound judgment in making administrative decisions, serves as a respected resource to other staff members regarding complex or stressful situations. Coordinates educational projects and programs for the community, physicians and staff, leads/assists departmental and/or hospital-wide project teams. Collaborates with medical staff, physician offices, off sites and other departments to promote rehabilitative services. Develops marketing materials and opportunities, assists with development of new business contacts. Monitors clinical services with regard to outcomes, service provision, referral patterns and potential for new growth. Tracks financial performance of area(s) of responsibility, makes recommendations based upon financial records. Prepares clinical area budget, completes reports as required. Coordinates equipment maintenance and purchase. EEO/AA
* Bachelors degree or equivalent.
* Must demonstrate broad and thorough knowledge of the theories, principles and practices in a professional discipline, specialized or occupational field.
* More than one up to three years of related work experience required, demonstrating a working knowledge of the job responsibilities and methods.
* Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, or Audiologist.
* Licensed in the State of Illinois by the Illinois State Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
