Inovio Pharmaceuticals is vaccine product development company with research and engineering facilities in San Diego, CA. Inovio is developing a new generation of vaccines, SynConTM DNA vaccines, to treat and prevent cancers and infectious diseases. These SynCon vaccines are designed to provide broad cross-strain protection against both known and newly emergent strains of pathogens, such as influenza, Ebola or MERS, or self-antigen for cancer therapies. These vaccines, in combination with Inovio s proprietary electroporation delivery devices, have been shown to be safe and generate significant immune responses. Job summary

The successful candidate will oversee a GLP immunology laboratory. The position encompasses the development, qualification, validation and execution of immunological assays related to the clinical assessment of DNA-based vaccines, and human immune monitoring. The candidate should have experience in running assays under GLP conditions. The candidate should have experience writing developmental plans for qualification and validation as well as also writing the final validation reports. Preference will be given to candidate who have experience in cellular and humoral immunological assays with human samples.

This individual will direct a group of scientists who will develop and run clinical immunology assays and therefore should have good management skills. Assay formats will include flow cytometry, ELISPOT, ELISA, and luminex. The candidate will report to the Senior Director Analytical Sciences.

Summary of essential job functions.
Generate standard operating procedures, qualification and validation reports and technical reports.
Support overall laboratory efforts in maintaining compliance.
Supervise a group of Research Scientists to accomplish designed tasks according to Corporate milestones.
