SUMMARY
The Manager Supplier Quality reporting directly to the Director Quality Assurance is responsible for supplier quality; assessing supplier capability, verifying the quality of purchased items at the source and upon receipt, providing timely and accurate supplier performance metrics, and facilitating continuous improvement in supplier quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
-Schedule and perform supplier quality system and process audits. -Ensure Receiving Inspection function is effective and efficient. -Coordinate use of L-3 personnel local to key suppliers for source inspection and surveillance. -Review and maintain evaluations of perspective suppliers and existing supplier performance, report status of supplier performance, and proactively take action when quality trends indicate such action is warranted. -Respond to quality related inquiries from suppliers. -Develop reports based on gathered Quality data in support of supplier performance history. -Assist suppliers in identification of potential problems, concerns or issues based on product knowledge and trend data. -Maintain awareness of shop floor issues which may be attributed to potential supplier problems; ensure appropriate corrective action is taken by the supplier. -Perform internal quality system and process audits. -Write/revise internal procedures and instructions. -Attend CCB and FRB meetings as required to report supplier issues or concerns. -Provide estimates for Quality Engineering and Inspection for existing as well as new programs. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages receiving inspection functions and supplier support technical specialists. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

-Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in Mil-Spec Environment with a general knowledge of government contract requirements. -Should have a minimum three (3) years experience in ISO Environment. -Must have at least three (3) years of employee supervision. -Must be logical and the ability to communicate well both written and verbally. -Must have general knowledge of Quality Engineering principles.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four (4) year college or university and six (6) years related experience and/or training.
