JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Manager Test Systems Group reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Engineering Support Systems. Primary duty is the management of the test systems group.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and direct the Test Systems Group work activities, provide guidance, evaluate design, and align manpower utilization amongst engineering and manufacturing.
Formulate and guide the implementation of long- and short-range plans, policies and programs pertaining to test systems and automation.
Prioritize, evaluate and schedule incoming work assignments for the department and make necessary adjustments in work force to satisfy these requirements.
Investigate the latest technologies in mechatronics, automation, data acquisition, and testing to ensure operational excellence for the department and make recommendations for additional equipment.
Schedule and coordinate mechanical, electrical, and software design reviews for all test systems.
Select, develop and motivate staff to a high level of competence capable of meeting current and future expertise/skills. Motivate and encourage employee development.
Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of direct reports, including pay administration, setting goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the work performed.
Prepare budgets, departmental goals, performance metrics, and other reports as necessary to effectively manage department. Make recommendations for improvements to department's operations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a four-year engineering degree, mechanical engineering preferred.
3+ years of functional experience in engineering design and automation. 1+ of these years served in a management role.
Well-developed managerial skills combined with technical expertise,
Experience in mechatronics, automation, data-acquisition, and test systems.
