* Position Summary:
Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises staff for all operational aspects of the Therapeutic Apheresis Department to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency and safety of blood/cellular therapy components and therapeutic apheresis procedures\.Very rewarding position which provides program leadership and operational direction for an extremely busy Therapeutic Apheresis department including staff guidance and supervision, technical expertise in a variety of therapeutic and cellular therapy procedures, coordination with other departments/functional areas, and interface with physician leadership\. Review and analyze current processes, plan and implement process improvement as needed, provide coordination with research on emerging IRB related procedures and participate in cross\-functional meetings\. When needed, assess clinical status of patients with complicated history and make nurse\-to\-patient assignments based on patient needs and staff expertise\. Therapeutic Apheresis is a Monday - Friday department but Manager maintains 24/7 accessibility to nursing staff for emergency procedures\. Must have outstanding interpersonal skills and exhibit extraordinary service qualities*
* Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required\. Three years recent patient care experience, demonstrates proficiency in intravenous therapy and cell separation\. Demonstrate current continuing education in Therapeutic Apheresis procedures and practices\. Valid California Nursing License and BLS certification\. Hemapheresis Practitioner Certification preferred\. Management experience in hospital/health care environment preferred\. Excellent human relations and oral/written communications skills\. Demonstrated ability to coordinate meetings, delegate tasks, maintain staffing levels, prepare reports, maintain employee records and problem solve\. Competency in personal computer and computer peripheral equipment*
