JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The TRAFFIC CONTROL MANAGER will oversee the heavy highway traffic control crews, providing direction and leadership on a daily basis and managing all jobs from the initial bidding process through final job completion. This position reports to the Construction District Manager.

Promote and enhance employee relationships and company image by applying company core values.
Work with local union hall to hire and rehire rotating pool of Flaggers & Traffic Control Laborers.
Perform new hire / rehire orientation for all traffic control staff (both HR & Safety).
Manage rotating labor pool and oversee appropriate distribution of skill/experience to job sites.
Assess and reassess skill level of pool of employees and review crew performance.
Train and promote labor pool from flaggers to TCL to TCS.
Perform daily spot checks of TC set ups to ensure MUTCD and L&I compliance.
Prepare & submit traffic control plans / Review and approve plans submitted by contracting agencies.
Keep up to date on MUTCD Requirements and L&I Regulations.
Identify special labor resources for Construction Department, i.e.: iron adjustment crew, sealing crew, shuttle buggy dump spotter and small jobs.
Oversee TC docs are filled out and TC bid items are billed correctly
Assist Estimators with TC bid items & review all project locations prior to bid.
Estimate TC labor requirements and obtain quotes from TC device suppliers.
Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and DOT agencies.
Broad knowledge of construction methods and specifications as they pertain to Traffic Control.
Excellent managerial, communication, organizational skills and demonstrated leadership and management abilities to motivate team members.
Excellent presentation and negotiating skills.
Computer skills in Excel and Word, SAP preferred. Familiar with Timberline and project management software.
Bachelor's degree Construction Management preferred.
A combination of 5 years Traffic Control with increasing levels of responsibility.
* Prior experience in traffic control management.
* Familiar with construction methods, MUTCD Requirements, L&I Regulations, DOT regulations, specifications, estimating skills and working knowledge of construction plans.
* Dedicated to practicing excellent personal safety habits and promoting safety on the job sites.
* Detail oriented, organized and able to meet deadlines and aggressive schedules.
* Ability to display strong job ownership.
* Possess excellent management, written and verbal communication, and computer skills with Excel and Word.
