The Manager is a who assists as directed with Twenty-four (24) hour- seven (7) days/weeks, responsibility for all operational aspects of their respective unit. The position encompasses human resources management, including assisting with recommending sufficient number of qualified and competent personnel to provide care; financial and clinical management, and the provision and development of professional leadership. He/she assist with establishing departmental goals of their department with those at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center. The philosophy of continuous quality improvement (CQI) is integrated by the Manager into all ongoing operations and activities of the department.
Supports and assists with the development and actualization of the department and hospital goals (strategic plan).
Development, implementation, and maintenance of policy procedures.
Manages personnel effectively, and analyzes workload and skill requirements of department.
Practices cost containment and demonstrates a high level of productivity and dependability.
Practices and promotes positive peer and guest relations.
Participates in and promotes quality improvement activities at the department level.
Adheres to and complies with HCA S ethics and compliance policies in our Code of Conduct and our standards of behavior. Attends annual training sessions.
Supports the mission, goals and objectives of the hospital.
Maintains developments, process improvement plans and safety for patient and staff.
Supervises all preparation and sterilization activities including decontamination, inspection, preparation, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution.
Participation in continuing education programs and courses, including programs on federal and local regulations, personnel and material management not limited to but including infection prevention control, the principals and methods of sterile processing.
Demonstrates and improves expertise thru participation in committees within the facility such as risk safety infection control.
Demonstrates knowledge of competence in operation of the specific steam sterilizing system at CLRMC.
Demonstrates knowledge of worker safety as related to medical device processing and sterilization.
Demonstrates knowledge of and documented competence in principals of sterilization and infectious disease transmission infection prevention and control all aspects of steam sterilization (including decontamination inspection, and packaging of items to be sterilized, sterilizing procedures, equipment operation and safety precautions.)
Five years recent experience and three years management experience preferred.
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
Specialty certification preferred.
Works closely with other nursing units, administration, ancillary departments, physicians and their support staff.
Responsible for assisting director to provide quality care while working within budget.
Directly responsible for supervision of professional and non-professional personnel assigned to their department.
