POSITION PROFILE

Management Recruiters of Berkeley has been retained by El Camino Hospital to conduct a search for a Manager of Clinical Documentation located in Los Gatos, CA. This role will be accountable for facilitating long-term success of the clinical documentation improvement and integrity program by providing intense oversight of the CDI program. This will include increasing awareness of the CDI program with the goal of enhancing the appropriateness and comprehensiveness of the medical record to ensure patient safety and quality care. The role will also support ongoing communication and education on documentation opportunities, coding and reimbursement issues, as well as performance improvement methodologies to physicians and the entire hospital staff. Reporting to the Senior Director for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, the Manager of Clinical Documentation will need to be a collaborative and resourceful leader who mentors, challenges, and guides the staff towards accomplishing goals.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have a background in clinical documentation improvement and strong knowledge of regulatory affairs. A hands on leader with a proven history of project management and improving workflow processes. Strong interpersonal and organization skills with effective written and verbal communication and the ability to work with a variety of disciplines and levels of staff across the organization.

Qualified candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a minimum of 3years' experience in an acute care hospital or similar setting. 3years recent experience with CDI Programs and a minimum of 2years management or supervisory experience will also be required. Current RN license in the state of California is preferred. Must have knowledge of Medical Part A and B. CCDS and CCS certifications are highly desirable.
