Large Healthcare Management Company in Southern New Jersey is seeking experienced, innovative, knowledgeable, results, and service oriented Manager of Financial Applications to manage the support, development, rollout, and strategic vision of the GE Centricity Business/IDX application. This position will report to the Senior Director of Financial Applications within the Information Technology Department.

JOB TITLE: Manager of Financial Applications

DEPARTMENT: IT-Applications

REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports directly to Senior Director of Financial Applications


Responsible for managing the daily operations, development, projects, and support staff of the Financial Applications department (GE Centricity Business/IDX), including providing advice and assistance related to the vendor's product (hardware and software) and participating and/or leading components of the installation and support for the physician practices. Serve as a participant and/or team leader in various financial and IT workgroups. Manages the scope of work, objectives and other project related activities of team's assigned projects.


Responsible for managing Financial Application departments projects and resources

Build, develop, and participate in the design of new applications within the GE Centricity Business and third party integrated applications

Serve as core team member on software version upgrades and responsible for managing testing resources

Assist in the establishment of system controls and perform quality assurance activities

Manage and participate in projects as assigned involving the development of physician practice management information systems

Evaluate reported software problems and determine course of action for resolution

Responsible for maintaining optimum communication with the system vendor, application support staff, and the users of the Practice Management system

Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction with clients

Review billable vendor support cases for business justification and feasibility prior to authorization

Hold weekly Financial Applications team meeting with staff

Attend Change Control meetings and represent Financial Applications team

In charge of Help Desk queue management; making sure tickets are distributed appropriately and efficiently

Hold weekly call with vendors to review vendor support cases and establish priorities

Manage version control process; sign-off and move changes to Production environments

Serve as subject matter expert for Financial Applications product suite

Responsible for team workload, task assignments, and meeting assignments

Take part in new client design, build, and modifications as needed

Responsible for ensuring yearly diagnosis and CPT code uploads are completed

Participate in all Financial Applications department related meetings

Serve as the Financial Applications department after-hours escalation point for support staff and clients

Responsible for managing the Financial Applications after-hours support calendar

Participate in the hiring process of new employees including interviewing and screening

Responsible for the Financial Applications support staff review process; developing review and initiating the process


Over six years' experience with a healthcare practice management system is required, preferably with the GE Centricity Business platform

Previous experience managing a Healthcare Information Technology Application team is preferred

Proven experience leading projects and team members

Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills

Hands-on involvement in the design, implementation and/or support of GE Centricity Business and integrated applications

Experience with Medical billing and office operations

Thorough understanding of the integration between applications

Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
