Job Description

Based at our Greenwood Village Home Office, you will ensure timely, accurate, efficient and compliant processing of payrolls; payments of taxes, and third-party payments. Establish and maintain strategic relationships with critical agency liaisons, other departments including IT and audit team. Monitor professional and industry leading practices and implement as appropriate. Develop analyst team to ensure the Department is better for being here. Duties Include: Establish, and ensure compliance with departmental procedures to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of payrolls; payments of taxes, and third-party payments; and management reporting. Develop team members to increase department proficiency and better for being here spirit. Train and guide the organization in effective and consistent application of payroll practices. Establish and monitor departmental performance metrics, and implement actions as needed to resolve undesirable trends. Oversee all departmental audit activities to ensure compliance with internal controls related to SOX and fraud prevention. Perform functional consulting with Payroll, HR and other stakeholders. Interact with Restaurant Operations and other departments to understand current and future demands. Gather, document, validate requirements in partnership with IT, and translate those requirements into system designs followed by testing the developed functionality. Act as a Functional Expert and Power User to the organization in all Payroll/HCM applications and tax. Test and approve system configuration changes. Demonstrate ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of the situation and the big picture. Ensure documentation is current on all new and existing payroll applications and processes. Load, manipulate, audit, and report on data and make complex mass changes, conversions, or other direct data updates to data, as considered necessary. Establish and monitor processes to assess the quality of data and monitor the use of data throughout the organization. Propose, document, and implement new or revised processes to improve data integrity and promote the consistent use of data. Act as an escalation point for end-users who are experiencing difficulties in using these systems. Research and identify the root causes for problems and own their resolution, Provide frequent and clear communications regarding the status of initiatives, keeping stakeholders informed of changes and work that is in progress. Job Requirements Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification required Minimum 10 years payroll experience Minimum 7 - 10 years experience supervising & managing 5 or more employees in a payroll setting (may be concurrent with payroll experience) Experience with processing large payrolls Advanced Microsoft Excel required Multi-state experience required, Canadian and/or International experience preferred Restaurant industry payroll processing preferred Strong, demonstrated analytical and strategic skills Ability to analyze data from provided reports and determine correction needed. Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently and with a team Experience with Kronos Time and Attendance preferred Demonstrates leadership Ability to process high volume work load.
