Superior group is looking for a Manual Mill Operator for our client located in Waco, TX


Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, indicating vices; trimming heads.
Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, broaching, and conventional milling and lathe work using various engine lathes including but not limited to horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring mills.
Independently set-up, adjust, and operate Horizontal Boring mills to perform diversified progressive multi-tooled machining operations of large and expensive work pieces.
Perform operations such as turning, boring, and facing.
Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Sets highest ethical standards for self and others
Read micrometers, veneers, calipers and scale.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings needed.
Demonstrated understanding of basic math skills needed.
Experience and understanding of Quality Management System
Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments needed.
Must wear approved PPE

Required Skills / Qualifications:

HS diploma
Minimum 6 years of experience as a manual mill operator.


Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

Associate's Degree with 2 years of experience as a manual mill operator
