MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Marlborough, CT



JOB SUMMARY



MANUFACTURING ENGINEER will develop, evaluate, and implement effective and efficient cellular LEAN operations, processes, tooling, and equipment. This person will solve technical issues, complete time & capacity studies, costing analysis, process design, design work cell solutions, implement new product introductions, solve quality issues, and employ mistake-proofing. Keeps Manufacturing Management well informed of area activities and significant problems while always ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Evaluates, designs, and introduces equipment and tooling required for production and productivity improvements.

* Trains production personnel on work instructions, process methods and safety requirements.

* Ensures compliance with safety regulations and requirements.

* Completes time studies to determine production capacity for each product.

* Makes recommendations and suggestions to improve production capacity to meet customer demands.

* Develops, documents, and improves manufacturing processes.

* Works with Test Engineering to create manufacturing test equipment.

* Design, implement, and monitor 5-S Lean and static control programs

* Evaluates capital purchases. Reviews department needs, efficiency ratings, and budget controls.

* Monitors and evaluates projects and processes to improve productivity, increase yields, and minimize waste.

* Creates written work instructions to document establish process and methods for manufacturing

* Keeps Manufacturing management informed of significant problems and of progress attained in reaching established objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

BS in manufacturing engineering or related field





EXPERIENCE:

2-5 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role





SKILLS & ABILITIES:

* Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and concepts.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

* Very strong computer skills especially with MS Office and 2D/3D CAD

* Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal & written communication

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment, successfully drive simultaneous activities, meet deadlines and achieve results

* Extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or six sigma principles

* Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and requirements.

* Familiar with ISO9001 & ISO14001 standards
