Superior Group is helping our national aerospace manufacturing client find a Manufacturing Engineer for their Thomasville, GA location. The client’s manufacturing site has 250 employees and machines single blades for jet engines.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs engineering/technical assignments using manufacturing engineering practices and principles
Designs, implements and develops solutions to manufacturing methods relating to materials, processes and tooling
Develops processes, methods, tooling and design of tooling and production controls for new programs as well as supervises their assembly and proofing
Provides engineering support by troubleshooting problems and effecting timely solutions to maintain the continuity of production flow.
Interfaces with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate cost estimate and select purchase parts.
Designs manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters
Monitors and debugs new methods and procedures to ensure system efficiencies
Prepares design concept drawings and cost estimates
Reviews and recommends changes to mechanical drawings and process documentation
Interfaces with manufacturing and quality departments to address and resolve engineering issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in a machine shop environment
BS degree in mechanical, aerospace or industrial engineering
5 years of manufacturing engineering experience is required
Analytical Skills: Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem
Communication/Written: Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely
Conceptual Thinking: Ability to think in terms of abstract ideas

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

5+ years of Aerospace industry experience
