JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY NATURE OF WORK: Perform routine preventative maintenance, calibrations ,and repairs on a wide variety of equipment with an emphasis on drills, routers, expose units, score machines and other conveyorized or hoist type equipment. Responds to maintenance tasks as assigned. Determines the cause of the problem using a logical approach (e.g. faulty pump, broken gears, leaking pipe, bent shaft, etc.). Obtains from stock or through purchasing the materials required to perform the repair. Performs the actual repair in accordance with established procedures with an emphasis on drills, routers, score machines, expose units, and conveyorized equipment. Uses available tools to aid in troubleshooting problems. Assists with the installation of new equipment within the facility. Assists outside vendors and process engineers on specifications. Assists other department personnel on more complex PMs or repairs. Performs equipment assembly, positioning, and testing. Maintains tools and physical inventories. Generates purchase requisitions to obtain equipment/supplies and/or replenish inventory as required. Completes various department paperwork: such as daily work sheets, purchase requisitions, add to stock forms, PM sheets, MRO's, etc. Follows the facilities and departments safety rules; utilizes proper personal protective equipment (eye protection, safety shoes, etc.) and reports safety hazards and incidents to supervisor.
This is a 1st shift position. Must be able to work 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Plus all required OT
REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read and comprehend written instructions (work orders, blue prints, equipment specs, etc.). Familiar with basic plumbing techniques for PVC, CPVC, black iron, and copper. Knowledgeable in the safe operation of the lathe and milling machines. Should be able to fabricate simple parts. Familiar with the use of various test equipment such as micrometers, veneers, and other linear measuring devices. Knowledgeable in the safe use and care of hand/power tools, shop equipment, and soldering techniques. Be able to perform replacement of mechanical assemblies that don't require precision alignment. Knowledgeable in troubleshooting and repair/maintaining pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
** This position normally requires 1-2 years previous mechanical maintenance experience or 1 or more years formal training (technical high school or a trade school.
