Job Description

Manufacturing Supervisor - Southern Maine
$60K - $70K

Summary
Our client, a global leader, is searching for an experience Manufacturing Supervisor for their Portland location. This manager will oversee up to 50 direct reports on a 6am to 6pm shift.

Responsibilities

*Direct the manufacturing people in a clean room environment

*Understand financial and operational goals, communicate them to the people on shift and lead them to meet the goals

*Partner with Human Resources and the manufacturing team to define the manufacturing workforce needed to meet the evolving needs of the shift

*Follow agreed business processes and company standards for recruiting, training, certifying, rewarding, motivating and continuously improving performance of the manufacturing people on the shift

*Develop and mentor the people on shift to operate autonomously and effectively within their area of specialty using established guidelines, procedures, and policies

*Identify and communicate opportunities to optimize business processes and automation for lower cost and higher productivity

*Support lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement to the operational performance of the factory

*Partner with the equipment maintenance organization to establish resource priorities for repair and timely completion of preventative maintenance tasks

*At times act for the maintenance supervisor on shift



Requirements:

*5+ years supervisory experience in an automated manufacturing environment

*Semiconductor or clean room experience a PLUS

*Demonstrated leadership skills in a factory organization

*Able to foster a professional work environment that instills trust and confidence among reports, peers and supporting organizations

*Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

*Demonstrated knowledge in continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing

*Demonstrated experience and skill using computers in the factory environment for automation, analysis and communication

*Ability and willingness to work any assigned shift, and to alter schedule as needed for training, coverage and off-shift meetings

*Work 12 hour operational shift in a multi-level clean room environment, model correct gowning and PPE protocols and stand or walking much of the time



Education:
Associate degree or equivalent
