Job Description



Job Summary & Essential Functions: The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position.



Responsible for ensuring that the Work Cell is operating according to the daily operation plan set forth by the dispatch list from Baan and the Work Center Manager/Supervisor.



At times the Team Leader may be asked to maintain cycle, flow and takt times in the cells by performing actual manufacturing of required products.



Monitor employees' daily quality, productivity and efficiency and provide assistance to improve overall performance.



Report on status of jobs.



Interface with all other Team Leaders on movement of work in and out of the work cell as well as quality and tooling issues.



Advise Work Center Manager of any problems meeting production goals.



Assign necessary personnel to complete production requirements.



Be responsible for and monitor the progress of the daily care and upkeep of equipment and tools used in the work center.



Promote employee involvement in improvement programs and support of Company goals.



Alert supervisor of needs to maintain required materials and supplies to complete assigned tasks.



Utilize BAAN reporting sessions to monitor cell demand and performance.



Maintain Metrics used to track cell performance.



Represent and advocate for the Company by following and enforcing the documented Company policies.



Track employee performance over the evaluation period in order to provide substantive input into the annual evaluation documentation.



Develop and implement countermeasures and action items to effectively address cell performance issues.



Directly supervises 3 to 12 employees assigned to the Work Center.



Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.



Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work and assessing performance.



Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.



Must be willing and able to work overtime as necessary.



Acceptable attendance is an essential function of the position.



Performs other duties as assigned or required by the position.

Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.



Basic word processing and spreadsheet capability required.



Good organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.



Ability to read and understand specifications and interpret drawings.



Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.



Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.



Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.



Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.



Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.



Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit; occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.



Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.



Must be able to communicate effectively.



Annual baseline hearing test is required.



Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.



Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.



Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.



One year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.



Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. Safety glasses, safety shoes and other designated personal protective equipment as required for the position.







Working conditions are: 70% manufacturing environment / 30% office environment.



Regularly required to work near moving mechanical parts.



Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and airborne particles.



Noise level is usually loud.



Hearing protection is required.



Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.



Fully enclosed shoes of solid, leather construction with a steel or composite toe cap (ANSI Z41 compliant) must be worn in all manufacturing areas.
