Job Description
Supervises scheduling of and participates in fabrication, tests, analyzes, and adjustments of R &D product according to blueprints and other specifications by performing the following duties. Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

The qualified engineer would also be considered a strong candidate.

Adheres to all safety requirements.
Write and maintain accurate production documentation instructions.
Maintains a clean work area.
May perform preventative maintenance and assists in trouble shooting and preparing standard production equipment for maintenance.
Assures that production schedules are maintained and followed.
May facilitate team meetings.
May assist in setting up work schedules.

Lead responsibilities include:
Gives work instructions, guides employee efforts and providing subject matter expertise to a team of employees.
Provides input to the direct manager/supervisor on overall team member performance and skill development plans.
Guides and coaches team members on work processes, skill development and adherence to deadlines and may have authority on how things get done and in what order to achieve business results.

Skills, Knowledge, Training
Solid knowledge of material logistics.
Solid knowledge of business system/concepts within the work area such as Demand Flow, Statistical Process Control, Process Documentation, Empowerment, Six Sigma methods, Quality and/or Cost Improvement.
Able to lead discussion, solve problems and take ownership of decisions.
Good presentation and training skills
Ability to write production documentation instructions

Job Requirements
Good familiarity and experience in operating vacuum equipment, leak detector, understanding of brazing procedures, clean room assembly and procedures

Assembles components following method layouts.

Analyzes test results, adjusts according to analysis.

Records test results and writes report on techniques used.

Desirable: Capable of operating metalworking machines, such as bench lathe, milling machine, punch press, and drill press to fabricate housings, fittings, jigs, and fixtures, and verifies dimensions.

Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.

Typical Education and Experience:

Associate Degree, plus 6 to 8 years of related experience.
