Job Summary

To monitor, measure and record the overall operational parameters of the paint system by coordinating and facilitating activities and reporting information to key personnel.
*Continuously monitor the operating parameters of the paint system by processing and analyzing data and information to effectively recognize and identify problems and trends and respond in a timely manner.
*Audit and collect data from the various process checkpoints within the paint system.
*Create and maintain appropriate documents; check sheets, SPC charts, graphs and written reports.
*Analyze trends (both good and bad) and identify problems from collected data and information.
*Make adjustments as needed within the paint system parameters.
*Communicate and follow-up on issues related to the paint system s performance.
*Support paint system by observing all applicable safety rules and correcting or reporting unsafe conditions, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions.
*Maintain spare part inventory.
*Participate actively as a leader and team member to achieve continuous improvement through lean activities to meet both internal and external customer needs with regard to safety, quality, delivery, cost and cash.
*Lead and participate in events to implement lean methods and reduce waste in all aspects of the process.
*Communicate all paint system process problems to Supervisor and appropriate support personnel (maintenance, engineering, quality, etc.).
*Perform other related duties as needed

Job Requirements & Skills

*High School diploma or G.E.D
*2-year or 4-year degree preferred
*2 years manufacturing paint-related environment preferred

*Knowledge of Pre-treatment Processes, Powder/Paint Application Methodology, Curing Technology, Fixturing (Paint Racks & Hooks), Coating Quality Assessment, and Coating Specification Generation.
*Knowledge of paint defect troubleshooting.
*Ability to network cross-functionally.
*Ability to think in analytical terms.
*Ability to show initiative, be a self-starter and be able to work with little to no supervision.
*Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
*Ability to use computer programs including MS Office, MRP (JD Edwards preferred), etc.
