Job Description
Overview:
The primary job responsibilities of the Market General Manager is the operational oversight of the emergent and non-emergent system serving a specific geographical location; including ambulance operations, customer service, political relations and all community service. Ensures compliance of company policies to include all contracts, corporate audits and compliance.Responsibilities:
P&L Management
- Create a culture that provides exceptional service at all levels.
- Accountable for fiscal management of specific location.
- Operate to meet or exceed operating profit objectives.
- Maintain full employment within location.
- Conduct weekly status meetings with all direct reports.
- Inspect operations for all regulatory, audit and human resource requirements. Develop corrective action plans to address any areas out of compliance.
- Daily face to face contact and feedback with direct reports.
- Actively manages demand planning and UHU optimization.
- Coach and develop team to achieve location revenue, operating profit, and expense goals and objectives.
- Monitor employee relations and work with management to identify trends, improve processes, administer corrective action, and put controls in place.
- Remain informed of relevant economic conditions and situations and recommend to the DGM any adjustments.
- Manage Supply Chain process of fleet supplies, office supplies, shop supplies and medical supplies.
- Inventory and request needed supplies to perform department tasks.
- Responsible for managing the success of market Accounts Receivable.
- Manage assets within the location to control expense.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual operational activity and performance reporting.
Growth Objective
- Increases transports throughout the market.
- Maintain an in-depth and complete knowledge of competitor activity within the market.
- Assist in brand and name awareness.
- Work with DGM to increase market share.
- Knowledge of local, state and federal lobbying and election laws.
- Represent the Company at political events, trade shows, recruitment events, industry meetings, etc.
Human Resource Management
- Ensure a culture that provides exceptional service at all levels making Rural/Metro the employer of choice.
- Ensure full employment within the location and work hand-in-hand with HR to ensure that positions are filled quickly and that quality candidates are hired and retained.
- Supervision of staff, set goals and holds people accountable for results.
- Provide environment of cross-functional support between all zone, corporate and field segments within company.
- Provide direction to direct reports to initiate appropriate levels of training, and to promote an environment consistent with Rural/Metro culture.
- Manage salaries within established compensation guidelines.
- Support and work in partnership on corporate initiatives.
- Performance management of personnel including, reviews, corrective action, mentoring, development plans and performance improvement plans.Qualifications:
