RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Serves as liaison with resort and media outlets for obtaining information, coordinating press visits and events, handling press inquiries and mailing information as needed. 2. Assists media relations counsel is writing pitch letters and utilizing media information sources. Responsible for media pitching for designated regions. 3. Responsible for local media initiatives -- including hosting, developing volunteer/charity programs, writing and distributing news releases and organizing special events. Work with media relations counsel for successful implementation of events. Regularly attends local business, chamber and charity events. 4. Coordinates onsite media visits, including arranging programs, dining with and entertaining press, provide welcome notes and baskets, check accommodations prior to arrival, include Sales department in larger group planning, communicate with onsite staff and supervise film crews. Also responsible for follow-up with journalists. 5. Designs and updates weekly activity booklet for distribution to all guests. 6. Assists in the writing and design of the owner newsletters; coordinates scheduling and topics with appropriate executives. 7. Assists in managing crisis -- including staff, guest and local press communication. Responsible for maintaining local emergency contact list. 8. Maintains calendar of press visits and special marketing events, as well as individual files of each journalist. 9. Maintains ongoing inventory of offsite and onsite collateral and all marketing and public relations materials. That includes photos, slides, archives, brochures, printing materials, etc... 10. Writes and proofs marketing materials as needed. 11. Designs and prints all internal guest communication materials including menus, forms, directions, event calendars, etc... 12.
