Marketing Director, Capital Markets

Job Description Summary

Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the communication strategy for the service line.

Job Description



Responsible for one or more of the following:



* Create a robust communications strategy for the Capital Markets group, including its various divisions (i.e. Equity Debt and Structured Finance Group).

* Create and distribute external communications included in communications plan; identify if additional region communications are required



* Ensure consistency, quality, and usage of best practices in all communications

* Update calendar of annual communications and update with additional content created throughout the year

* Evaluate effectiveness of external communications against key performance measures



* Coordinate Public Relations for region and develop content needed to support PR plan including:



* Identify and build strategic relationships for the company with national, local, and trade media

* Update media list (e.g., national, local, trade, and bloggers), news release pipeline, and distribution calendar

* Boost company's brand awareness for Capital Markets through thought leadership leveraging traditional and digital media



* Examples of external communications that may need to be developed include:



* News / press releases (e.g., for major transactions, management assignments, corporate service, new employee announcements)

* Speaking / thought leadership presentations

* Content for select national and trade publications

* Capital Markets specific social media content

* Blog content

* Award submissions



* Lead and / or execute internal initiatives to improve processes / function / client service

* Work with local, regional and service line public relations leads to expand coverage through coordinated efforts

* Uphold the mission and standards of the company, and support firm-wide initiatives



Requirements



* Bachelor's Degree required

* Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Business or related field preferred

* 7+ years of marketing and communications experience

* Ideal candidate would have marketing and communications experience in the Commercial Real Estate industry

* Thorough knowledge of commercial real estate industry

* Exceptional oral and written communication skills

* Strong presentation skills

* Ability to effectively influence others to achieve understanding, acceptance, and commitment to act in support of ideas, programs, or causes

* Ability to work effectively in a culturally and educationally diverse environment

* Confident self-starter with impeccable attention to detail

* Advanced analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills

* Ability to influence peers and leaders

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

* General knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

* Ability to independently achieve successful outcomes on all executed activities with minimal supervision

* Exceptional project management and organizational skills

* Detail oriented, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and customer service oriented

* Strong skills in communication, building and leveraging relationships, managing-up and across, stakeholder management and self confidence

* Ability to draw upon the analysis and make recommendations that have a direct impact on the company

* Ability to work with executives and revenue producers



Physical Requirements



* Involves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer for up to 8 hours a day

* May involve periods of standing, such as operating at a copier/fax/scanner

* Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and type

* Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you

* Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing

* Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand

* Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays
