Position Overview
Actively drive direct sales of silicone products within a diversified customer portfolio to meet operating targets/plans.
Work closely with customers to determine technical applications for Specialty Fluids silicones for both new and existing products
Is accountable to liaise with distributors, build relationships, strategically sell and utilize your knowledge in Industrial applications to support the sale of our products.

Job Responsibilities

* Identifying growth opportunities within the territory for both new and existing customers. Will identify and commercialize new silicone chemical applications promoting the Momentive product line to service companies that support the following segments:

* Fermentation

* Pulp & Paper

* PU Mold release and general purpose release applications

* Electronics

* Food & Beverage

* and use technical knowledge and good interpersonal skills to develop successful working relationships.

* Close business with new and existing customers to meet required operating plan for territory for sales revenue, contribution margin, STNC, price, and business travel cost budget.

* Monitor all the targets that are being generated in salesforce.com and ensure proper follow up by sales

* Prepare and present sales reports and account plans as necessary utilizing Momentive systems such as salesforce.com, financial reports and be familiar with the basics of SAP.

* Work closely with both customer and Momentive internal resources to obtain technical and business information or to process customer requests

* Prepare organograms of each key account, keep them evergreen and cultivate relationships with key decision makers.

* Build in-depth product, application and processing knowledge for Industrial applications, especially in the areas of foam control, release and electronics.

* Provide and maintain technical data info to support business projects and support NPI developments (e.g. datasheet development, specifications)

* Be able to respond to technical inquiries from customers requiring no lab work

* The position will ask for about 30% travel

* Support of new growth activities.

Competencies

* Successful candidates will possess a degree in Chemistry and an MBA and will possess experience in sales in one or more of the target segments listed above.

* Demonstrated project management skills with history of completing high quality work meeting deadlines.

* Demonstrated excellent analytical skills

* Strong time management skills; demonstrated ability to work well independently.

* Valid drivers license.

* Speaks and reads English. Another language (Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean) would be an advantage

* Computer literate, can use Microsoft Office

Minimum Qualifications

* 5 to 7 years commercial sales experience in the silicones industry with exposure to the segments listed above

* Broad understanding of foam control, release and/or electronics applications across many segments would be an advantage

* Understanding of generic competitive environment.

* Strong Project Management capabilities

* Demonstrated project management skills with history of completing high quality work meeting deadlines.

* Good communicator as will be expected to present to customers and at Momentive internal meetings

* Good interpersonal skills

* Able to express complicated concepts in a concise manner to support our NPI introductions, present at customer meetings and communicate at all customer levels

* Lateral thinker capable to use ideas and concepts from other markets and segments.

* Self motivated and an excellent team player, high level of creativity, technical curiosity and strong team spirit

Education Requirements

* Successful candidates will possess a degree in Chemistry and an MBA and will possess experience in sales in one or more of the target segments listed above.
