This pre-opening position start date is August, 15, 2016. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Execute marketing activities for the property as directed by the Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM), General Manager (GM), and Regional Marketing Director. Work with DOSM and strategic partners to create and execute global marketing/advertising strategies, make updates to the propertys web-site, coordinate creation of sales and on-property collateral, create and execute robust social media strategy, and coordinate initiatives for on-property and local programming. This pre-opening position start date is August, 15, 2016. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE 5+ years experience in public relations, marketing, advertising Orlando Hotel & Resort experience preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor Degree or Equivalent (Communication/Marketing/Advertising preferred) Graphic Design experience required (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc) Outgoing and self-motivated individual with pleasant personality Excellent computer skills, including desktop publishing Excellent written and oral communication skills ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Expertise with website content management systems to make updates to the propertys web-site Work with property departments to ensure web sections are accurate, current and effective Create and distribute exceptional e-mail campaigns Optimize processes for guest data capture ensuring that PMS, dining and spa data is integrated into CRM database Manage and execute online advertising strategy with strategic partners Create on-property promotions and programming and work with applicable departments to implement Accurately track department expenditures and adhere to budgeted and forecasted expenses Support social media function with stories and ideas to generate buzz online. Maintain and build upon contact list, reaches out to power bloggers and create editorial calendar for hotels blog Post to social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. as defined in media schedule Monitor review websites including Trip Advisor, Yahoo Travel, etc. and manage Revinate social media dashboard Coordinate and host on-property press visits with support from Regional Director of Public Relations & DOSM Work with Regional Director of Public Relations to coordinate PR related to special events Optimize processes for guests data capture ensuring that PMS, dining and spa data is integrated Assist in establishing marketing goals Develop and execute marketing plan with DOSM Oversee the hotels advertising, public relations, social media, and promotional activities with DOSM Communicate with advertisers and PR agencies Evaluate success of hotels advertising programs & achieve satisfactory P&L expense ratio in all campaigns Prepare ad hoc and periodic marketing activity reports Direct and oversee all hotel digital and print publications Increase revenue by building greater awareness of the Hotel through media relations, publicity efforts, promotions and social media strategies Establish strong relationships with media, potential promotional partners, and current partners - Visit Florida and Visit Orlando, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, and other substantial partners Media Database Development and Industry Monitoring - Builds upon list of media contacts by focusing on key feeder locations and niche markets Monitors consumer and trade news to identify trends that the hotel can capitalize on Publicity Efforts - Generates media exposure for hotel by communicating key themes and strategies throughout the year - Annual/Periodic theme, new name & logo, etc. Promotional Efforts - Maximizes promotional partnerships Responds to leads delivered by Visit Orlando, Visit Florida and other partners Reaches out to companies identified as potential partners, as well as media outlets Media Familiarization - Develops FAM packages with key tools to deliver a superior experience to the journalists. Manages individual stays and online request forms Maintain an efficient system of communication with other departments. Make sure all employees have a succession plan and opportunity for growth. Provide a fair, consistent and positive work environment for employees. Encourage and model a professional and Bee the Difference attitude at all times. Represent your department at all meetings, including pre-cons, conference reviews and department head meetings. Develop business plan to ensure overall operation, growth and long range profitability are achieved. Develop and implement incentive programs to ensure maximum revenue. Develop and implement job descriptions for all positions supervising. Develop and implement STOs (Skills Training Outlines) for all positions supervising. Develop and implement department orientation program. Participate in all property recognition programs. Develop budget and monitor profit & loss statement with management, assuring profit goals are met. Forecast revenue, monitor payroll and expenses on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. Take appropriate action to effectively manage profitability. Develop a recognition program to ensure employees who go above and beyond are recognized. Address all payroll issues on a timely basis. Respond to all employee requests within 48 hours. BASIC SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as scientific, and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents Ability to write reports, business correspondence and produce manuals Knowledge of sales and accounting practices Ability to present information to top management, public groups and directors Ability to apply to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Ability to meet company Quality Service Performance Standards OTHER CRITICAL FACTORS: Regular attendance is required MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Perform other related duties as requested by the DOSM / GM, and Regional Marketing Director
