The Marketing Manager - Proposals is responsible for ensuring Employee Benefit s external facing proposals are leveraging consistent, current, accurate, and compelling messaging in describing our products and services. The Marketing Manager - Proposals provides support for the EB Proposal team in their efforts to respond to requests for proposals from brokers often within short timelines and analyzes proposal trends to continuously manage and improve proposal content in a digital library used for all proposal responses. This individual is responsible for developing, managing, and continuously improving key sales collateral including assets used in finalist presentations in the field and proposal packaging and partners with EB stakeholders across key functions and Marketing partners to ensure clarity of company s value proposition in proposals and sales collateral.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage content within proposal/bid library to ensure currency and accuracy while seeking to present company s products, services and capabilities for optimal positive impact on brokers and customers through the sales cycle. Create systematic processes to ensure bid response content is kept current. Ensure our brand voice and value proposition are well integrated into proposal responses. Consult with functional experts across the business to understand the nuances in our products, services and capabilities and translate complex information into digestible and clear language to populate library of responses for proposals. Provide on-going support Proposal Team with copywriting, review and editing as needed on time sensitive proposal response processes.



Develop and manage compelling sales assets, including finalist presentations and electronically generated proposal templates, and supporting proposal packaging and assets in support of EBD sales organization with minimal guidance. Manage development of copy and design for presentation collateral, regularly consulting with product and service managers, sales organization and marketing peers on improvement opportunities. Supports initiatives to execute on these Conducts regular audits and conducts on-going maintenance and improvements for assets.



Conduct regular analysis on requests for proposals to identify macro trends and key points of inquiry. Share results with stakeholders and participate in development of recommendations for improvements in products, services, capabilities. Partner with SME s and marketing strategy leaders to evolve core messaging for proposal responses. Share findings and analysis with business stakeholders and marketing peers to assist in prioritization of related projects.



Provide insights, messaging and copywriting support for Marketing peers to ensure consistency in Employee Benefits marketing collateral, proposal language and sales tools. Manage projects from start to finish with minimal guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Four-year college degree in Strategic Communications Management, Journalism, Marketing or related field.



Experience: Six years experience in disciplines of marketing communications, creative staff management, business development, employee benefits and project management or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Specific experience in B2B complex proposal response fulfillment is preferred.



Job Complexity & Judgment: Use judgement to solve complex problems, writing and editing for diverse media and audiences; knowledge of best practices and acts as resource to others to bring consistency and clearly integrate complex concepts from diverse operations. Preparation, communication, facilitation, teambuilding and management skills to champion the division-wide charge for integrated communications and plan, manage and evaluate marketing communications strategies, tactics employed and results.



Ability to: Exercise independent judgement and discretion to proactively analyze and evaluate marketing communications strategies. Assists with making decisions on recommendations for new processes and programs. Comprehend legal compliance issues and effectively balance these with business objectives; facilitate consensus among stakeholders on strategies, concepts, content and development of materials; maintain effective working relationships with sales, division management, stakeholders, legal and corporate resources; manage work to meet tight deadlines and frequently shift gears to address urgent customer requests.



Working Knowledge Of: Corporate branding and corporate identity principles and guidelines; creative and technical writing techniques; legal principles, advertising compliance law and requirements; Employee Benefits and related corporate marketing and business development initiatives; emerging product development opportunities, industry trends and technological developments.



Working knowledge of: Employee Benefits products, markets, administration, operations and differences between Standard Insurance Company and The Standard Life Insurance Company of New York; marketing theory, strategies and communications tactics; corporate and Employee Benefits communications conventions.
