Position Summary and Essential Duties
Under limited supervision, develops and implements corporate marketing plans to optimize sales and profit for the organization. Communicates marketing support programs to internal and external staff to ensure programs are executed in a timely manner. Develops and assists in pricing recommendations, advertising, merchandising and product improvement plans.
Job Specific Information
Conceptualize innovative revenue-generating, market opportunities which are desirable to customers and profitable/feasible for FedEx. Provide authoritative advice, expertise and consultation to drive the validation and launch of innovative concepts and market solutions through exploration, incubation and commercialization phases. Use deep knowledge of innovation methods and skills including trends analysis, primary and secondary research, design thinking, experience design, insight generation, business strategy, concept generation and development, communications, prototyping, business modeling, market testing, project management, and team leadership to support efforts of the Innovation team and other parts of FedEx.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Considered a Plus
Master s degree and/or experience in business or product design or design research would be a plus.
Product management, new product/service development, business development, innovation, entrepreneurial or design thinking experience.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong ability to illustrate and communicate concepts.
Analytical skills needed to synthesize research findings into key insights.
Working knowledge of observational research methods and design thinking and/or business model generation and market validation methods.
Relocation assistance is available for this position.
Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in marketing, communications or related business discipline. Five (5) years work experience in marketing, sales, sales administration or related discipline. Demonstrated knowledge of marketing disciplines and information analysis. Demonstrated experience in leading major corporate initiatives. Experience in database marketing, telemarketing, promotions, pricing and financial analysis. Strong human relations, communication, organizational and analytical skills. A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements. A related Master s Degree equals two years experience.
