Position Description - Massage Therapist Department: Spa FLSA Code: Non Exempt / Hourly + Commission Reports to: Spa Director Supervises: None Part Time - On Call The Massage Therapist performs massage, body and hydrotherapy treatments while providing personal attention to each guest. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent CA state license and NCBTMB certified, secondary license of esthetics, cosmetology or nail technician is a plus Must have at least 2 years of massage experience performing massage, body and hydrotherapy treatments Current CPR certification Strong Customer Service Skills Essential Functions Administers various types of massage, body and hydrotherapy treatments as required Proficiency in all components of massage, body and hydrotherapy, i.e., anatomy and physiology Ability to asses guest needs and tailor treatments and services accordingly Prepare treatment areas and supplies daily, and complete all tasks necessary for opening and closing shifts On-time attendance is necessary, and uninterrupted work is expected Attend all departmental staff meetings and product knowledge trainings Conduct tours of the facility as needed, to ensure a pleasant visit of each guest Oversee and maintain the cleanliness and neatness of facility Promote and sell massage and body products Flexibility to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand Follow all safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment Answer guest questions using excellent customer service skills Must be well groomed, with nametag on at all times while working on the property Must be well-mannered, display a helpful attitude at all times, greet guests when encountered, show appreciation to the guest for being at the resort, and show genuine willingness to help guests and employees at all times Monitor trouble-shooting needs, and make recommendations accordingly. Environment Inside Spa area standing on hard vinyl floors the majority of work shifts. Tranquil Quiet Atmosphere.
