Located at the luxurious Phoenician, our 22,000 square-foot Scottsdale, Arizona spa features 24 private treatment rooms, a private consultation room, fitness classes, weight training and cardiovascular studios, a Waters Bar, a full-service salon, and a Meditation Atrium. Due to our continued growth, we are currently searching for On Call Massage Therapists who will create memorable experiences for our guests while catering to their wellness. These individuals will be responsible for providing a variety of therapies while maintaining a high level of professionalism and composure. The most suitable candidates should possess the certifications and licenses necessary to perform treatments. At least 2 years previous experience within in an upscale spa setting required, preferably within a resort spa environment. Swedish and Deep Tissue massage proficiency required. Specialty modalities including Hot Stone, Reflexology, Clinical Sports, and Neuro Muscular a definite plus. Requirements POSITION PURPOSE: Manipulates bodily tissues manually for the purpose of affecting the muscular and nervous systems and the general circulation of the body by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: AVERAGE ' OF TIME 20' Applies the techniques of scientific massage to assist in the rehabilitation of sprains, strains, fractures, and dislocations, as well as to help eliminate pain from neurotic, arthritic, and rheumatic conditions. 20' Applies massage to relieve various forms of paralysis, insomnia, migraine headaches, and other conditions caused by poor functioning of the nervous system. 20' Stimulates the circulatory system with massage to reduce stress and improve physical condition. 20' Provides relief of muscle tightness caused by stress and shortens recovery time for injuries with massage therapy. 5' Works with various agents to complement massage, including application of heat and light, hydrotherapy (water treatment), and exercise. 5' Maintains the overall neatness and cleanliness of the massage rooms. Maintains inventory of massage products, towels etc. 5' Maintains schedule and record of all massage appointments. 5' Communicate with guests and employees in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Other: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities.
