span B Position Summary: /B br Responsible for monitoring and ensuring sufficient supply of purchased materials, and for leading continuous improvement projects to drive cost and efficiency within the materials team value stream.  The position requires strong organizational and analytical skills and strong, effective teamwork, follow-up, and communication.   br   br B Reports to:   Purchasing Manager /B br B   /B br B JOB RESPONSIBILITIES /B br • Analyze Min/Max and Days-on-Hand inventory levels and maintain sufficient supply. br • Periodically review inventory strategy and propose needed adjustments as business conditions change. br • Set-up items in ERP. br • Verify MRP, and place necessary purchase orders and material releases. br • Manage material levels, purchases, and delivery dates for special sales promotion items. br • Develop and revise internal process documents for procurement and inventory management. br • Create and report key performance metrics related to inventory management. br • Communicate forecast information to supply base to ensure suppliers are ready to react as needed. br • Inventory specialist and process trainer. br • Lead contact for all inventory discrepancy investigations & corrective action. br • Non-production inventory transaction owner (returns, reconfigure, manual ad, etc.). br • Assist with process development and improvement of ERP systems. br • Other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor. br   br B MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: /B br • Five or more years of materials or inventory management experience. br • Must be able to operate independently requiring limited supervision and exercise proper judgment. br • Basic understanding of MRP, Bills of Materials and Routings br • The ability to manage multiple conflicting tasks in a fast-paced environment. br • APICS Certification desired. br • Skilled in MS Office applications. br • Strong communication and organizational skills, detail oriented. br • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. br • Ability to interface well with cross-functional teammates. br • Familiarity and training in LEAN principles, 8D, 7 step, Six Sigma. br • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems. br • Experience with and strong working knowledge of Microsoft NAV a plus. br • Ability to analyze and reconcile material issues. br   br B PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: /B br • Associated Degree (Bachelor Degree preferred) and/or equivalent experience br B   /B br B Physical Requirements: /B br The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
