JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Our client company is one of the world's leading manufacturing producers of critical rotating components of turbine engines for aviation, industrial and military applications. The Cleveland OH facility is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Materials Engineer - Metallurgist.
Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications, procedures and other related documents and establish procedures, control and monitor processes, test and appraise material, conduct studies and evaluations, maintain records, and perform other duties required to assure conformance to customer requirements.
Review and assure compliance with customer blueprints, specifications and technical documents.
Conduct metallurgical evaluations and prepare reports on raw materials and products to assist in with problem solving or obtaining process approvals.
Operate and maintain systems which assure that raw materials and products are tested and certified as conforming to all customer requirements.
Compile information, coordinate testing, and issue reports to obtain customer approval for manufacturing processes.
Provide purchasing with the necessary information to assure materials are ordered in conformance with all applicable specifications.
Maintain records associated with raw material and product certification and testing.
Perform internal and external audits as required to assure compliance with customer and requirements.
Provide advice and counsel to other departments in regard to dimensional, metallurgical, material, heating and technical subjects.
Work as required with customer or supplier representatives to assure all quality requirements are satisfied.
Act to assure aspects of the Quality Manual and Quality Procedures will be fulfilled.
Proactive approach to EHS, transforms the site to a visual, standardized management system, and focusing on KPI.
Ensuring process capability, repeatability and conformance to quality and manpower requirements.
Supervises improvement for the value of the process to reduce/eliminate “human interjection” into processes.
Oversees, manages, implements and evaluates all Value Stream projects with results being the top priority.
Responsible for development and implementation of the Operational Excellence initiative and successful implementation of productivity projects at the site.
Presents the evaluation on reduction of MRB turns, total dollar amount saved per project versus goal amount, unit hour improvement and lasting effect to the executive members.
Direction for aligning the organization into a transparent and cohesive strategy centered upon a culture of deliberation and continuous improvement.
Responsible for taking cost out of business processes and reducing/ eliminating waste.
Oversees all Operational Excellence chapters - Quality Management Systems & Policy (FEMA, Root Cause, QC Clinic), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Integrated Supply Chain Management, Visual Factory, Advanced Business Systems TOC, Lean, Six Sigma, Big Rock), New Product Introduction (NPI), Proactive Health & Safely Programs, Risk Assessments and Single Point of Failure, HR, Capacity Planning and Shop Scheduling, Customer Relationship Management, KPIs, and Process Design for Flow Optimization.
Analyze organizational metrics and perform periodic reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps.
Analyze and interpret the data on the customer blueprints to determine the best way to proceed to reach the desired outcomes.
Use discretion and judgment how to receive the optimal results the customer is looking for in manufacturing and inspection of parts.
