JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Summary:
The Packaging Mechanic is responsible for the operation, set up, change over, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance of the packaging machinery, according to established procedures. Provides assistance to Technical Services and Engineering in validation of new products or equipment maintenance. Assists in the daily packaging operations as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibility:
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE, INSPECTIONS & REPAIR
Assemble, Disassemble, repair and set up all packaging machinery within set guidelines.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems with packaging machinery.
Troubleshoot PLC down to the I/O level.
Perform preventive maintenance on packaging machines, including changing out motors, speed controls, pumps, bearings, gearboxes etc.
Complete equipment logbooks/PM Task sheets and ensure that the packaging machinery is operating within cGMP guidelines at all times.
Able to perform equipment installations and relocations.
Able to work with minimal supervision
Fabricate and fix mechanical parts and perform simple welding if required.
Read Blue Prints, Electrical Schematics, and technical machine manuals
Assist with parts inventory and initiates parts requisitions.
Analyze and troubleshoot issues in the packaging line, identify, recommend and implement improvements.
1.Cleans, assembles and operates equipment according to standard operating procedures and/or manufacturer s instruction. Maintains working area clean and organized.
2.Operates and makes adjustments to equipment necessary to package solid dose products within specifications.
3.Ensures that product is packaged according to procedure and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
4.Monitors product and product parameters throughout the packaging process.
DOCUMENTATION, SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
Follows safe working practices while performing assigned duties. Identifies reports and recommends corrective action for any unsafe conditions to a supervisor or department manager. Adheres to safety procedures including the use of required protection equipment.
Documents all required information on the packaging record activities, equipment and process room cleanings.
Create and Close-out Notifications, Corrective Work orders, and PM Work orders within SAP PM Module.
Assist in the development of maintenance procedures, preventive and routine work instructions, training and troubleshooting instructions.
