Job Description

Adecco is currently assisting an Aerospace and Engineering client with openings on 2nd shift at their Fort Collins location for Mechanical Assemblers. These are contract to hire roles for the right individual. The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, installing, aligning, adjusting and fitting subassemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment using appropriate tools and equipment, in an industrial setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assemble and/or perform preset calibration/final testing for simple assemblies/sub-assemblies consisting of mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembly consists of low to moderate complexity. Products may include but are not limited to small products, light sub-assemblies, and/or complete units of a smaller size.
2. Assemble, install, align, adjust and fit sub-assemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment using appropriate tools and equipment.
3. Clean parts and maintain tooling and equipment per proper work instructions.
4. Follow and maintain training plan and work instructions associated with assembly skills to become certified for work being performed.
5. Inspect parts for re-use.
6. Perform precision assemblies and adjustments.
7. Work with close tolerances and fits to meet engineering and operating requirements

Other Functions
1. Assist in performing troubleshooting and diagnosis of problems.
2. Be knowledgeable and compliant with all area housekeeping efforts.
3. Complete Quality Assurance and Test Record (QAATR) reports.
4. May disassemble and handle returned units.
5. Identify and implement quality/process improvements with manufacturing engineer.
6. May perform assembly audits (after being certified).
7. Perform flow and/or pressure testing of assembly components.
8. Perform test stand preset calibration and final test of product.

1. Knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, hammers, screwdrivers, scrappers, box cutters).
2. Knowledge of and ability to apply inspection techniques (e.g., formalized inspection standards, inspection instructions, best practices) and use inspection tools efficiently. The ability to read and use micrometers, functional and cylindrical gauges, comparators, indicator setups, scales.
3. Knowledge and ability to use torque wrenches to adjust parts and equipment, or install parts and equipment, following established specifications and procedures.
4. Must be available for 2nd shift (2:30PM-11:00PM).
