Position Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assisting the Plant Engineer and Engineering department with implementing assigned projects, and capital plan requirements. This position is also responsible for maintaining plant drawings and engineering documents. The applicant must obtain field measurements from existing equipment and buildings, prepares conceptual, preliminary, construction, and as-built drawings for facility modifications. Assists in requisitioning required materials, and helps coordinate the activities of contractors and plant construction crews. Work may be performed in any area of operation. This position is based out of the Boardman/Hermistion plant, but may need to travel to other facilities. Will be assigned other duties that need to be completed in a safe and timely manner.

Position Qualifications

Required Abilities:
* Must be able to use Auto/Cad at an advanced level.
* Obtain horizontal and vertical dimensions using tape and transit in the plant, which can weigh up to 50 pounds.
* Update and create quality accurate drawings:
P&IDs
Utility
Structural
Mechanical
And any other requested
* Checking vendor shop drawings for conformance with specifications and for dimensional integration with overall plan.
* Transferring drawings to PDF from Auto/Cad, and all Microsoft Office programs.
* Must be fluent in all Microsoft Office Programs such as power point, publisher, excel and word.
* Must be able to multi-task and prioritize when given various responsibilities.
* Assist with contractors getting bids communicating specifications and needs.
* Successfully interact with co-workers.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Follow plant safety, and plant policies.
* Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management skills and flexibility.
