ThyssenKrupp System Engineering, Inc. develops, designs and manufactures turn-key automotive body and powertrain assembly systems including gauging and testing technology for worldwide automotive manufacturers and their supplier industry. ThyssenKrupp System Engineering is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan .
Candidate must have solid (BIW) Body in White and closures experience.
*Executes equipment design, feasibility studies, preparation of specifications, and technical documentation.
*Carries out engineering solutions and designs in compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and project specifications. Applies design standards and generic design patterns.
*Develops and designs mechanical solutions for equipment of different kinds that provides specified and required functionality and cost effectiveness.
*Review and interpret mechanical specifications.
*Develop concept sketches for mechanical devices related to assembly systems.
*Develop design/layout of cost unit & cost unit element.
*Present/review design with others including customer.
*Create all necessary deliverables for engineering release including bill of material (BOM), and then release BOM for procurement.
Education and/or Experience
MUST HAVE (BIW) Body in White and closures experience.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a related field from a 4-year college or university with at least 5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Other Skills and Abilities
*Capable of designing complex machines using NX Unigraphics and CATIA V5 CAD Software.
*Knowledge of OEM Specifications such as FORD, GM or CHRYSLER
*Capable of executing detailer role.
*Working knowledge of GD&T.
*Ability to understand specifications, including company, customer, government and safety.
*Ability to utilize personal computer equipped with electronic database, spreadsheet, word processor and AutoCAD software with high proficiency.
*Ability to understand customer and applicable international standard requirements.
