Position: Mechanical Engineer Level 1 Drawing Checker for Jet Propulsion Lab Work

Required Experience and Job Description:

The Level 1 check function will be a cursory check for drawing format and fundamental drawing detail. The Checker will review and redline engineering pre-release drawings against ASME Y-14.100, the JPL Engineering Drawing Practices, DocID 35596, Revision I (formerly STD-00001) as required. Dimensioning will be in accordance with ASME Y14.5. Redlined PDF s of JPL supplied engineering drawings will be completed roughly no later than 2 weeks after receipt or assignment of individual drawing packages to be checked. Drawing package size is expected to be 10-15 drawings per week. PDF redlining tools will be used to convey suggested modifications to the checked drawings with processed drawings transferred back to JPL.



Position Requirements:

Greater than 2+ years of previous engineering drawing design documentation experience including documentation for form, fit, and function using ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5. Knowledge and application of industry practices and standards in detailed, assembly and Interface/Source Control drawing generation is required. Knowledge of Configuration Management principles and JPL Engineering Drawing Practices is also desired.
