Job Description

The Engineering Analysis Group 74 supports the design of ground, air, and spaceborne optical and communications sensors. Expertise includes optomechanical design and analysis including thermal, structural, aerodynamic, optical, and systems analysis. The Group participates in all phases of sensor development from the conceptual design through hardware integration and test. Example projects include ground-based radio antennas and optical telescopes, airborne IR tracking systems, and spaceborne imaging and laser communication terminals.

The Group is seeking mechanical engineers with interest and experience in mechanical analyses including structures, thermal, fluids, and aerodynamics. The successful candidate will be a part of an interdisciplinary team involving analysts, designers, and mission experts in the development of prototype systems. The position may require special security clearances and travel to meetings and field sites.

Requirements: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. A background in design and analysis and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams is highly desired. Candidate must be able to work with interdisciplinary teams and clearly describe results in oral presentations and written reports.
