Project Mechanical Engineer to support our rail vehicle task order contract with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. This task order contract is for maintenance support engineering. Support activities include: failure data analysis, specification development, failure troubleshooting, overhaul support, material selection and reverse engineering to replace obsolete parts.Candidate will provide technical support, task management and project management support in a variety of assignments. Role will include engineering support of procurements for both new and overhaul of rail transit vehicles, both light rail and heavy rail. Responsible for resolving design and system integration issues on transit vehicle projects. Engineer will support both office and field based activities, including technology assessments, writing specifications, evaluating vendors, design reviews, troubleshooting and problem resolution, testing support, and failure investigations.
