Description:
Intermediate/Advanced:Support the design, development
and maintenance of the next generation of hardware based
submarine and aircraft carrier reactor plant and
engineroom simulators and provide life cycle support for
currently deployed simulators. The primary duties and
responsibilities of this position could include but are
not limite to:
* Designing, procuring, assembling and testing of
simulator hardware.
* Assisting in the design, development, execution and
evaluation of engineering research and design
projects associated with unique engineroom
simulations.
* Teaming with other engineers performing related
phases of simulator development to ensure
integration of activities and plans.
* Preparing project plans to accomplish assigned work.
* Identifying and completing performance measures,
including post job assessments.
* Following hardware contracts including detailed
reviews of vendor prepared mechanical, structural
and/or electrical drawings and vendor prepared test
procedures.
* Observing and concurring with vendor testing at the
vendor site and at the off-site facility.
* Procuring mechanical, structural and/or electrical
components and assemblies supporting simulator
development.
* Performing acceptance testing of assembled hardware
at Bettis and at the off-site facility.
* Assisting in the preparation of technical manuals,
drawings, reports and procedures in accordance with
program quality standards.
* Support of shipping, installing and testing of
simulator equipment at Bettis and on Navy Bases.
* Travel and short term assignment at temporary
locations.
Requirements:
Intermediate:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of two years of relevant
experience; or
MS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university
Advanced:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of four years of relevant
experience; or
MS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of two years of relevant
experience
A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 is preferred.
