P1 Group is looking for qualified Mechanical/Plumbing Estimator (Entry Level) in our Las Vegas, Nevada office.




Assists in the preparation of accurate, competitive bids by utilizing the latest state-of-the-art equipment.

Directly contributes to the success of the company by working with the Operations Manager, Estimating and Management Team to win awards and to build and sustain relationships with clients.

Works closely with the Operations Manager/Estimating Department to maintain estimating data, establish and maintain standardized estimating practices, and foster a solid team approach within the department.



Possess strong knowledge in material and equipment specifications.

Proficient in plan reading and understanding how projects will be built.


Education: Bachelor s degree (BS) in a construction related discipline, OR at least five years of field trade mechanical/plumbing experience and/or mechanical/plumbing training, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: None required for entry level assignment. Experience related to HVAC Service or Construction preferred.

Required knowledge:


Proficient in one of the following programs Quickpen/Quotesoft/Accubid.

Understanding of HVAC and Plumbing systems.

Know current basic industry practices.

General knowledge of computers and related software.Basic Microsoft office skills (word, excel, outlook).

Able to comprehend applicable construction documents.

Able to utilize computerized estimating programs.

Familiar with different types of building occupancies.

Understanding of MCA or SMACNA labor units is a plus but is not required.

General knowledge, skills and abilities:

Good verbal communications.

Work well in team atmosphere.

Ability to write clearly and informatively, spelling and grammar; able to read and interpret written information and basic correspondence.



Accurately estimate projects at all levels of difficulty. Ability to flag potential problem areas on a job (areas outside of P1's normal standards).

Develop interpersonal relationship with local vendors.

Ability to identify correct vendors for job. Working knowledge of vendor system, i.e. who to call and how to secure pertinent information from library of vendors.

Knowledgeable of project specifications and their specific requirements.
